The Story
From the piano,
onto the road.
Jaz recorded a demo EP that landed her gigs all over Los Angeles, including KCRW’s School Night in Hollywood. She continued to perform her infectious melodies for a growing following across the city, and put together a backing band of jazz musicians led by tenor saxophonist Kamasi Washington and The West Coast Get Down.
She launched her own music night, Soundcheck — a residency on the Sunset Strip at The Standard, Hollywood. Her own live music night. A live jazz jam and musical experience unlike any other happening in Los Angeles.
She then teamed up with acclaimed British DJ and producer Thomas Bullock and sound engineer Scott Smith from the Village Recorder, and recorded her debut album Jaz and The Children At Play — twelve tracks that blend the freedom of jazz with an added twist of punchy electro‑pop to create a sound entirely her own.
Jaz continues to write and collaborate with esteemed artists such as Steve Vai, and Payphone out of the UK, while working on a new stage production for her music.
